In the early 2000s, a sociolinguistic study focused on examining the situation in the Ladin valleys of Trentino and South Tyrol. The results can be partly compared to the CLAM 2021 research, which was undertaken over twenty years later and expanded to include the Ladin varieties of Veneto and other minority languages.
